Terrible weather today! Been raining since about 3:00 am and supposed to rain through tomorrow. I love the rain but not for the dogs. It is so wet and cold for them. Even with fur coats! Dreary day. Good day for movies and popcorn!
I have added individual pages of my cocker moms. Have a few to go but most are just about complete. I have pictures of them, pedigree, registration information and a bit about their personalities and their past litters. Check it out! Cocker Moms
Matthew has his first session with the physical therapist today! He is so excited to finally get started. He has not been able to do any strength training with the team but has gone to the gym to do leg work.
I thought Raven was going to have her cockapoo puppies early but she is holding her secrets close! She is not even shredding newspaper. But she loves all the extra attention we are lavishing on her.
Beatrix puppies are now 2 weeks old today. Some are just opening their eyes. Should be able to post new pictures with eyes open the first of the week.
Gus now has a new home. He came back to us as his family didn't have the time to devote to him. He is now Jet and lives with his family in St. Augustine, Florida. They love him and he loves them to pieces! He hopped into their SUV like he had done it all his short life! Thanks to the Goodin family for giving him a wonderful forever home.
John is off to China today. Was a bumpy ride out of Columbia, SC to Chicago with all the rain. He'll be back next week.
Thursday, November 6
I am placing Mia, my full tailed blue merle/white parti girl. She is such a love and ball crazy! Great fetcher but she doesn't always like to give it back! She is such a hoot! Anyone interested, please let me know. See the Available Adults page for pictures.
Three of the five families have picked their puppy out of Beatrix. Two to go.
Wednesday, November 5
I hope everyone voted yesterday in the most historic elections of our time! I am proud to be an American and proud to have supported John McCain. Let's pray that Senator Obama will bring back some of our old fashioned family values when he takes over the Oval office.
It has been raining here for the past few days. Sun is finally out and it is about 70. Nice day. The trees are changing color and it is truly spectacular! Such beautiful deep reds, golden yellows and vibrant oranges. Just stunning against the blue sky!
Three dogs, Betsy, Mylo and Truffles went to the groomer today. I cannot believe how wonderful Mylo looks! The grooming school only has a couple of senior students and they are so good! Very artistic. I need to get updated pictures of Mylo for you to see! They loved Betsy. She is a pretty black & white parti cocker. Small...about 11" tall and 11 lbs. The groomer wanted to keep her. Truffles was put into a cute puppy cut with a skirt. She is now in heat and I'll breed her to Baxter or Stoney. Puppies due mid-January and ready mid-March.
Beatrix puppies had their tails & dew claws removed. All are doing very well. This is Beatrix first litter and she is an awesome, caring mom! I am very proud of her! Her puppies are just so adorable. Some of the prettiest colors, all consistent in size, too. I can't wait for their eyes to open! The first family, out of Georgia, decided on the red girl with the white ribbon. The reds are so very hard to find!
Baci, the brown & tan toy poodle, will be leaving here next Tuesday. He will be living with Sherri and her daughter in Texas! They have a pretty little poodle girl he is going to keep company! They will make a great pair I am sure.
My son is recovering well from surgery last week. He is such an active teenager! He can't stand just sitting around doing nothing. So, he has his cast off Friday morning and we'll talk to the doctor about starting physical therapy as well as getting Matthew back to the gym and back into the 4th block of school (it is weight lifting for the baseball team).
John leaves for China on Monday for business. He'll be gone two weeks. I'll miss having him around!
While he's gone Raven will probably have her puppies. Last time she had six (buff & white, sable, black phantom and black w/white markings). They were really pretty. I truly love to get a rainbow of colors in each litter. Makes every litter seem like Christmas cuz you never know what you are going to get! Always a surprise. Some litters are known. When you breed buff to buff you always get buff or a black phantom to a black phantom always produces black phantoms. These are the only color combinations you can be sure of when breeding.
Well, time to get the dishes done. Later!
Sunday, November 4
Beatrix had her pretty cockapoo babies on Friday, Halloween! Five gorgeous girls and 3 handsome boys. She is a great mom and they are all doing well.
Friday, October 31
Mz. Beatrix is in labor! Early! WOO HOO!!! I have been kind of bored with no puppies here to keep me busy! I am so looking forward to cockapoo puppies. Raven is definitely pregnant and due mid-November and Baker is definitely pregnant due the end of November. My son had Tommy Johns surgery last Tuesday and is doing very well. Getting better every day. He will get back to school on Monday, have his cast taken off on Friday and be ready to begin physical therapy. We are all certain that he will be back at Lexington High School ready for the Varsity season! Time flies so fast...they are now seniors and ready to leave the nest. Tonight is Halloween. Where we live we don't any trick or treaters so it will be a quiet night. Tomorrow we will be heading to a friends house who has Lou Gehrigs Disease. He now needs a wheel chair so we are going to build ramps over the steps and doorways. It is truly a devastating, fast moving disease. The weather is absolutely wonderful. Cool and crisp during the day and about 40 at night. Good sleeping weather! Bitsy has found a home in Florence, SC. Hershell (brown poodle) and Gizzy (schnauzer) have found homes here in Columbia, SC. Tux, the cream apricot poodle, was shipped to Tonia at Attlata Cockapoos in Mississippi. I am sure she will have some awesome cockapoo and poodle puppies out of that amazing fella! We are raising up three beautiful champion bred cockers for cockapoo puppies! One is a very deep brown and the other two are red. All have really pretty amber green eyes! I hope they produce those pretty eyes in their puppies. Have to wait til next year to see.
Thursday, October 23
It's been almost a month since I have written and updated all of you on what is going on here. All but one of our particolor cockapoo puppies have gone home. The last one, Callie, will be going home on November 1st and will be living in Kentucky. It is really quiet here without the sound of puppy paws on the flooor!
Sunday, September 28
Three Ebony cockapoo puppies have gone home this week. The rest go home this week. Time sure flies! Updated the pictures of the last four puppies here. Check them out. It is really hard to get good pictures of a black dog. I would like to take a class and get a better camera.
My Schnauzer girl, Pocket, is going to be bred to Mylo next week! So, hopefully, we'll have some awesome schnoodle puppies available around Valentine's Day! Pocket is a very pretty platinum and silver girl about 12" tall and 10 lbs.
Friday, September 25
What a busy week we have had! It is raining and blustery this morning. It's not cold but it is cool after the heat we have been having. Nice sleeping weather. I have been trying to update pictures but just have not had time to do that. My son has some issues that had to be addressed this week and today we are off to yet one more appointment. Nothing too serious except to a baseball player and his career. Matthew will be off to Charleston Southern University next year on a baseball scholarship. As a senior this year there is so much to do. Just ordered his senior pictures (that puts a dent in the ole pocketbook) and get pictures copied for the yearbook ad. Yes, they ask parents to put an ad in the yearbook for the seniors! Another dent! Had a few puppy vet visits this week, visitors looking at puppies and a couple of puppies out of Ebony went home. I also shipped the last little boy schnoodle to Lake Placid, NY yesterday morning. Next week four of the cockapoos will be flying to different areas around the country...Texas, Massachusetts, Illinois and Pennsylvania! I am also placing a couple of my dogs....looking for good forever loving home for my poodle boy, Hershell and the poodle boy, Tux. Gizzy, the schnauzer and Bitsy, the cocker have been placed. Just need to get them spayed. We have two new kitties and the local Humane Society is offering free spay/neuter on kitties in October if you bring in 5 cans of food for the Harvest Hope food banks. Sounds like a plan! The local grooming school is doing a bang up job on the dogs! Every Wednesday I take three to be groomed. They come back looking wonderful and they get alot of hugs and kisses from the students.
Saturday, September 20
What a morning! Two puppies have new homes, some came to visit their puppies and some decided to wait for Beatrix to have her puppies. Was very hectic but so much fun meeting all my new "family" members! We are starving so Clemson University is on the television so we are going to have a beer & some wings!
Thursday, September 18
Made a trip to Fayetteville NC to deliver Komet the poodle, Link the boy schnauzer and two beautiful cocker puppies to Cheryl. She drove 9 hours and I met her there. Was three hours for me and 9 for her! After a quick breakfast we were both back on the road home. When I got home I bathed, dried and took pictures of the Mia and Dunkin puppies. New pictures are posted in the Nurseries. Take a look! Yesterday I did get the Tracey and Pansey puppies all done. Will be Sunday before I can get the Ebony puppies bathed, pix & uploaded.
Tomorrow Ebony puppies will be going to the vet for their final vet visit. They are starting to go home next Saturday, the 27th.
All of the puppies are eating well, playing with their toys, learning to give the BEST puppy kisses! I am very pleased with their personalities.
We have a busy week end coming up. Several families coming to look at puppies, pick one out. Also a schnoodle puppy is going home..one on Friday and one on Saturday! The last schnoodle puppy will be winging his way to Lake Placid, NY next week.
My son Matthew's senior pictures (proofs) are here! Wow! He is such a handsome guy (can you tell I am prejudiced!). We are also getting an ad together for his yearbook, meeting with advisors to be sure he has all his credits for graduation. Always something going on now. It's so much fun but really kind of sad as my baby will be flying the coop!
Wednesday, September 17.
I have updated the pictures of Pansey's puppies today. Baths, too. They are the most gorgeous puppies! I am working on updating Tracey puppies, too. They all have the best personalities!
Friday, September 12.
Been a busy few days. Four of the dogs went to the groomers on Wednesday. Tux, Baxter, Lady G. and Ginny. Looked really nice when they got home. The grooming school is doing a great job! Yesterday gave all the baby cockapoo puppies a Neopar vaccine for parvovirus and all the schnoodle puppies their five way vaccine & kennel cough vaccines. Got all the puppy packets ready to go for the schnoodles. Schnoodles are off to the vet this morning for health check ups and some are going home this week end. The cockapoo puppies started eating some canned Pedigree puppy food yesterday. They loved it! So today I will mix moist, soft puppy chow w/the can. Ebony's puppies were 5 weeks yesterday and the rest follow pretty close behind. Pansey's puppies are very silly indeed! When I walk into the puppy room, they are UP and to the front of the cage demanding my attention! They all sit down and puppy bark at me! It is just the sweetest, funniest thing to watch! All of the cockapoo puppies have wonderful personalities. They are now learning to play with small latex squeeky toys and play fight with each other. Today it is going to rain. Boo Hoo. Rained some yesterday, too. Off to the vet...chat more later!
Tuesday, September 9.
Well as you can see the new format of the website is up! What a lot of work but I think definitely worth the time invested. I hope you like it as much as I do. I still have some pages to work on, but overall pretty much complete.
Cockapoo and Schnoodle puppy pictures were updated late last week. All puppies were given baths and were blow dried. Was a long day but the job is done til early next week. There are alot of particolor cockapoos to pick from but they are SO pretty! Come and visit and see!
My dear friend Cheryl is coming to visit on September 18th. Looking forward to seeing her. She is BarMor Kennels in Canandaigua, NY. Just breaking into the cockapoo, schnoodle and yorkiepoos. If anyone would like a puppy, she would take them back with her and you can pick up the puppy from here around October 2nd. She and I got to know each other in the early 90's when we both showed our cockers in AKC confirmation shows. Some wonderful relationships do come from the dogs!
My sons car went kaphooie over Labor Day so we found him a good used Jeep Grand Cherokee. Pick up on Thursday. For a college bound student, this is a good choice! With hauling all his baseball gear, we felt this was the best choice.
I am looking for a home for Gizzy, my schnauzer mom. She would need to be spayed. She is current on vaccines. Let me know if you are interested in her.
Also placing Bitsy, a sable cocker.
