Cockapoos result from breeding a Cocker Spaniel to a Poodle. They derive their extraordinary intelligence from the poodle as well as their non-shedding, hypoallergenic coat. Because they do not shed, there is little dander. Dander, of course, is the main cause of allergies to dogs.
The Cockapoo has a very sweet and loving disposition as well as a sturdy stature which comes from the Cocker Spaniel. The combination of Poodle and Cocker Spaniel gives these dogs their extraordinary ability to relate to people, both old and young. Some of the qualities attributed to the cockapoo are loyal, affectionate, open and friendly, non-destructive, eager to please, very trainable, healthy, vigorous, clean and long lived.

The Cockapoo, Schnoolde and Yorkie-Poo are hybrids. Hybrids have become very popular in the past few years. They play a big role in the current designer dog trend. The experimentation of these hybrid or designer dogs has not been recognized by the American Kennel Club but has been recognized by the Continental Kennel Club. The key to cross breeding to purebred dogs is what is called hybrid vigor, the breeding resulting in a healthier dog with superior genetic constitution can come from dogs purebred for so long that they have common genetic disorders.
TOY and MINIATURE SCHNOODLE
Height: TOY: 8 - 10" MINIATURE: 10" - 15"
Weight: TOY: 5 - 12 lbs. MINIATURE: 12 - 20 lbs.
Life Span: 12-13 yrs.
Exercise Needs: Moderate. Regular walks, fresh air and backyard activities.
Activity: Very outgoing, curious and active. Expects a lot of attention.
Environment: Fenced yard, leash, socialization, and training.
Grooming: May need grooming by professional groomer depending on coat texture.
Training: High: Very trainable due to their high intelligence.
The Schnoodle has many outstanding qualities to offer as a family pet/companion. They have "human-like" personalities, are very intelligent and are a remarkable fun loving pet. They are hardy, robust and very loyal. They love being with people of all ages. They are content to sit in your lap or go hiking in the hills. A Schnoodle is very adaptable to most lifestyles. They are hypo-allergenic and do not shed. People who have allergies to dogs can usually own a Schnoodle without difficulty.

YORKIEPOO
Height: Teacup 3 - 6" Toy 6 - 9"
Weight: Teacup 3 - 7 lbs. Toy 7 - 12lbs.
Life Span: 12-13 yrs.
Good with Children: Good with children, but small children need to be monitored with this breed. Yorkipoos are quick and frisky and may be difficult for small children to handle properly.
Exercise Needs: Needs playtime and regular walks.
Grooming Needs: Their coats should be brushed often to prevent matts. Regular bathing, ear cleaning and possible plucking, along with nail trimming is required.
Training: High: Very trainable due to higher intelligence in the breed.
Learning Rate: Quick learner and excels at new tricks; alert and clever.
Activity: Very outgoing, curious and active. Expects a lot of attention.
Environment: Fenced yard, leash, socialization, and training.
The Yorkiepoos personality can be a mix of both parent dogs, the Yorkshire Terrier and Toy or Miniature Poodle. It is friendly, self confident, loyal, energetic, brave, intelligent, playful, sweet, and loving. The Yorkiepoo loves their family very much and would have their feelings hurt if left out. They may be small but can run very fast. Although this beautiful mix is easily trained they can be quite stubborn. The Yorkiepoo truly thinks that it is a big dog. Even though they are small in stature the Yorkiepoo makes an excellent watch dog.
